In the starting European H2020 project on intermittent rivers and ephemeral streams (DRYvER http://dryver.eu/ ), there are 2 postdoc positions opening, whose descriptions are here https://ecoflows.inrae.fr/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/2020_12_Postdoctoral-position-on-metaecosystems.pdf and there https://ecoflows.inrae.fr/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/2020_12_DRYvER_POSTDOC_WP3_GHG_-LECA_UGA.pdf .
The first one will develop a spatially-explicit dynamic meta-ecosystem model for drying river networks that is capable reflecting space-time variability in biodiversity patterns, organic matter resource flows and C-related ecological functions in a fragmented, dendritic context. Opened for 18 months at INRAE https://ecoflows.inrae.fr/ , Lyon, France it can be followed by an 18 months-position based at ICRA https://www.icra.cat/ , Catalonia, Spain, to calibrate the model with empirical data from 6 case studies across Europe in an upscaling perspective to derive climate-change scenarios at the European scale.
The second one will propose a methodological framework to identify and assess the contribution of abiotic and biotic controls on GHG emissions from drying river networks. This framework will be applied to empirical data collected across 6 case studies in Europe to produce climate-driven scenarios at the European scale. The position is opened for 24 months and will be based at the Laboratory of Alpine Ecology https://leca.osug.fr/ , Grenoble Alpes University, France.
Both will be based in a very friendly and highly-collaborative environment
