										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yannis Ioannidis is currently the President of the <strong><a href="https://www.acm.org/">Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)</a></strong>. He is a Professor at the <a href="http://www.di.uoa.gr/en/"><strong>Department of Informatics and Telecommunications</strong></a> of the <a href="http://uoa.gr/"><strong>National and Kapodistrian University of Athens</strong></a> as well as an Associated Faculty at the <a href="http://www.athena-innovation.gr/en.html/"><strong>ATHENA Research and Innovation Center</strong></a>, where he also served as the President and General Director for 10 years (Jan 2011 – Feb 2021).</p>
<p>He received his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the <a href="http://www.ntua.gr/index_en.html"><strong>National Technical University of Athens</strong></a> in 1982, his MSc in Applied Mathematics from <a href="http://www.harvard.edu/"><strong>Harvard University</strong></a> in 1983, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the <a href="http://berkeley.edu/"><strong>University of California-Berkeley</strong></a> in 1986. Immediately after that he joined the faculty of the <a href="http://www.cs.wisc.edu/"><strong>Computer Sciences Department</strong></a> of the <a href="http://www.wisc.edu/"><strong>University of Wisconsin-Madison</strong></a>, where he became a Professor before finally leaving in 1999. His research interests include Database and Information Systems, Data Science, Data and Text Analytics, Scalable Data Processing, Data Infrastructures and Digital Repositories, Recommender Systems and Personalization, and Digital Storytelling, topics on which he has <a href="https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=MIfpzUQAAAAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=ao"><strong>published</strong></a> over 170 articles in leading journals and conferences. He also holds four patents.</p>
<p>Yannis is an <a href="http://www.acm.org/"><strong>ACM</strong></a> and <a href="http://www.ieee.org/"><strong>IEEE</strong></a> Fellow (2004 and 2010, respectively) and a member of <a href="http://www.ae-info.org/"><strong>Academia Europaea</strong></a>. He is also a recipient of the <a href="http://www.vldb.org/"><strong>VLDB</strong></a> <a href="https://vldb.org/archives/10year.html"><strong>&#8220;10-Year Best Paper Award&#8221;</strong></a> (2003), the &#8220;Presidential Young Investigator Award&#8221; &#8211; PYI (1991), and of several awards for teaching excellence, including the nation-wide <a href="https://www.forth.gr/en/content/Vassilis-Xanthopoulos--Stephanos-Pnevmatikos-Award.60/"><strong>&#8220;Xanthopoulos-Pneumatikos Award for Outstanding Academic Teaching&#8221;</strong></a> in Greece (2006) and the &#8220;Chancellor&#8217;s Award for Excellence in Teaching&#8221; at the University of Wisconsin (1996). He has also been a keynote speaker at several conferences and an invited speaker in several distinguished lecturer series at prominent universities and research centers.</p>
<p>Yannis has been the coordinator and legal entity head of <a href="http://www.openaire.eu/"><strong>OpenAIRE</strong></a>, the software director of the European <a href="https://www.humanbrainproject.eu/"><strong>Human Brain Project</strong></a> flagship initiative, the coordinator of the <a href="https://eoscfuture.eu/"><strong>EOSC Future</strong></a> strategic project, and a (co-)principal investigator of over 100 research projects funded by various government agencies (USA, Europe, Greece) or private industry. He has been an Associate Editor of <a href="https://cacm.acm.org/"><strong>Communications of the ACM</strong></a>, <a href="http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/236/description#descriptionl"><strong>Information Systems</strong></a>, <a href="http://www.springerlink.com/content/100475/"><strong>Journal of Digital Libraries</strong></a> , <a href="https://vldb.org/vldb_journal/"><strong>VLDB Journal</strong></a>, and a member of the program committees of over seventy conferences, six times as (co-)chair (ICDE&#8217;09, ADBIS&#8217;07, EDBT&#8217;06, HDMS&#8217;03, VLDB&#8217;02, VDB&#8217;98, and SSDBM&#8217;97).</p>
<p>Yannis has served as the ACM Secretary/Treasurer (July 2018-June 2020), the <a href="http://www.sigmod.org/"><strong>ACM SIGMOD</strong></a> Chair (July 2009-June 2013), following a 4-year term as Vice-Chair, and in several other ACM boards and committees. He is or has been a member of several other executive bodies of professional organizations (<a href="http://www.vldb.org/"><strong>VLDB</strong></a> Endowment, <a href="http://tab.computer.org/tcde/icde_stc.html"><strong>IEEE ICDE </strong></a>Steering Committee, <a href="http://www.edbt.org/"><strong>EDBT</strong></a> Endowment) and Scientific Advisory or Evaluation Boards (<a href="https://www.cwi.nl/en/"><strong>CWI</strong></a>, <a href="http://www.mpi-inf.mpg.de/"><strong>Max Planck Institute for Informatics</strong></a>, <a href="http://eset.certh.gr/"><strong>Greek National Science &amp; Technology Council</strong></a>, Greek Ministry of Health). He has served as the Greek delegate to the <a href="http://ec.europa.eu/research/infrastructures/index_en.cfm?pg=esfri"><strong>European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI)</strong></a> (2012-2023),  being a member of its Executive Board (2016-2022) and a vice-chair (2019-2021), currently being a permanent expert. He is also the Greek delegate in the <a href="https://eosc-portal.eu/about/eosc"><strong>European Open Science Cloud</strong></a> Steering Board, the ESFRI representative to the <a href="http://www.e-irg.eu/"><strong>e-Infrastructures Reflection Group (e-IRG)</strong></a>, an expert in the Programme Committee on <a href="http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/en/area/research-infrastructures"><strong>Research Infrastructures within the European Commission&#8217;s Horizon2020 Framework Programme</strong></a>,  as well as  the co-chair of the Global Climate Hub of the <a href="https://www.unsdsn.org/"><strong>UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN)</strong></a>.</p>

After 12 years in industry Steve moved to academia and pioneered many new topics in sustainable business models, eco-efficiency and other topics within industrial sustainability. His research asks ‘how to deliver a sustainable industrial system at the speed and scale that the planet needs?’ and is conducted with leading practitioners such as Toyota, Chanel, Airbus and 100’s of other companies. He started his first research on Circular Economy in 1995. Steve has founded various cleantech start-ups and served as Special Advisor to the UK House of Lords. He is also a Professor at the Royal College of Art and Cranfield School of Management. Steve was elected to serve on the Board of Academia Europaea.</p>

<p><strong>Dr. Theodore Daglis is an Assistant Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Regional &amp; Economic Development. </strong>He holds a BSc in Mathematics (specializing in Computational Mathematics, and Statistics &amp; Operations Research), an MSc in Mathematical Modeling (Specializing in Financial Engineering), an MSc in Economics, and a PhD in Applied Econometrics &amp; Economic Analysis entitled “Stochastic Physical Phenomena and Economic Activity”. His expertise includes econometrics (time-series analysis, panel data, time-varying models, etc), chaotic modeling (fractal and multifractal analysis), volatility modeling (stochastic, realized, etc), and machine learning (forecasting, natural language processing, etc). The fields of study he currently engages in include economics, finance, environment, energy, agriculture, scientometrics, bibliometrics, topic modeling, and others. He possesses two post-docs, Energy-Agriculture Price Transmission, and Alternative Empirical Investigations in Sustainability, Circular Economy, and ESG. He has published 40 scientific works in international journals, has participated in 29 conference presentations, and is a reviewer of many international journals.</p>

Ali has degrees in mechanical engineering and physics and has worked in environmental engineering, earth sciences and climate science over the past decade. He works closely with the industry on topics such as carbon dioxide removal technologies, risks associated with climatic/environmental extreme events, and marine biodiversity.</p>

She is certified in Quantitative Risk Management and Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies from Judge Business School Executive Education, Cambridge, UK. Dr. Nisiforou holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Marine Science/Oceanography, a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Maritime Operations, a Master of Science (Hons) in Learning in Natural Sciences, another Master of Science (Hons) in Environmental Pollution Control, and a PhD from the Department of Environmental Science and Technology, specializing in pollution monitoring and control and renewable energy. She received a prestigious scholarship (0311/21 PENEK) from the Research Promotion Foundation for her doctoral dissertation. Throughout her academic journey, Dr. Nisiforou has received numerous awards and competitive scholarships for academic excellence. Notably, she secured first place globally in the 2010/2011 UNESCO Fellowships Program for Program Priorities and has been recognized by institutions such as the Bank of Piraeus and Hellenic Bank Professionally, Dr. Nisiforou has extensive experience in multidisciplinary technical and research operations, both locally and internationally. She has served as both a principal investigator and contributor to a diverse array of projects, ranging from fundamental to applied research. Over the years, she has co-authored more than 15 successful research proposals, securing funding from various sources, including the European Union and national bodies.</p>

<p><strong>A</strong><strong>nastasia Litina </strong>is an Assistant Professor at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece. She is also an Extramural Research Fellow at the University of Luxembourg. She received her Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Macedonia, visited Brown University for a semester and worked at the University of Luxembourg as a post-doctoral researcher prior to her employment in Greece.</p>
<p>Her research interests include a theoretical and empirical examination of the long-run determinants of growth, on the implications of various dimensions of culture (e.g., corruption, religiosity, environmental attitudes) for socio-economic outcomes, the social implications of population aging, as well as on the long-lasting effect of historical events on current socio-economic outcomes.</p>
<p>Her work has been published in the Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of Development Economics, Harvard Business Review, World Development, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Economics Letters, Journal of Comparative Development and others. She is currently ranked among the top 3% of female economists according to IDEAS and top 4% among male and female economists (based on publications of the last 10 years).</p>
<p>She has served as PI in several research projects financed by Greek and Luxembourgish funding schemes as well as from the EU. Her research has also received honors and distinctions from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Macedonia. He is also an Affiliated Professor at <a href="http://www.uth.gr">University of Thessaly</a>, <a href="https://www.athenarc.gr/en">ATHENA Research Center</a> and <a href="https://www.amaranthus.org/">AMARANTHUS</a>. He is an expert on human-centered design of transportation systems and infrastructure, sustainability and resilience of transport systems and logistics.</p>
<p>He graduated from the School of Engineering of University of Thessaly, Department of Civil Engineering in 2004. In 2006, he acquired his MSc diploma in Applied Engineering and Systems Simulation and, in 2016, his PhD in Transportation Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering of University of Thessaly (UTH). Since 2006, he is a research associate at the Department of Civil Engineering (UTH).</p>
<p>From 2017 to 2021, he was an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering (UTH), from 2010 to 2015 he worked as a research associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas in Thessaloniki, Greece, and from 2008 to 2011, he was a Lecturer at the Technological Educational Institute of Larisa, Greece.</p>
<p>He has been involved in more than 40 European and national research projects. She holds a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan and more than 20-years post-doctoral experience in the field of coastal structures and marine renewables.</p>
<p>She has carried out the research in cooperation with many Universities and Research Institutes, developing good team-working skills and a strong enthusiasm for interdisciplinary topics, specifically for the new research frontiers of marine renewable energy, including multi-use offf-shore platforms, and coastal flood defence strategies such as eco-friendly and cost-effective measures, including both technological and non-technological solutions.</p>
<p>Author of more than 150 papers, h-index: 30 (scopus).</p>
<p>Editor-in-Chief of Coastal and Off-shore Engineering Journal, Frontiers of Built Environment; Associate Editor of the Journal of Off-shore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, ASME; Member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, Nature, and of Renewables and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Elsevier.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://energy.cyi.ac.cy/personnel/theodoros-zachariadis/">Theodoros Zachariadis</a> is a tenured Associate Professor at the Energy, Environment and Water Research Centre of the Cyprus Institute. In 2009-2020 he served as an Assistant and then Associate Professor of environmental policy and energy resource management at the Cyprus University of Technology. In 2015-2020 he was the Dean of the University&#8217;s Faculty of Geotechnical Sciences and Environmental Management. He holds a Diploma and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.</p>
<p>He has worked as a researcher at the National Technical University of Athens and as a European Marie Curie Fellow at the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency, a Visiting Professor at Aarhus University, Denmark, a Manager at the European branch of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Europe) and an associate editor of the international Journal &#8220;Energy Economics&#8221;. He is also a member of the Leadership Council of SDSN Cyprus and served as a Board member of Green Budget Europe, a Brussels-based expert platform promoting environmental fiscal reforms.</p>
<p>During the last years, he has been listed in the top 2% of academics globally in the field of Energy. He is the recipient of the 2009 Research Prize of the Republic of Cyprus and the 2019 Environmental Prize awarded by the President of the Republic of Cyprus. His research interests are on the techno-economic analysis of energy, environmental and transport policies, with a special interest in environmental taxation.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://sdgcenter.unpad.ac.id/arief-yusuf/">Arief Anshory</a> Yusuf is Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, Padjadjaran University, Indonesia, Visiting Professor at Department of International Development of King’s College London, Honorary Senior Lecturer at Crawford School of Public Policy of the Australian National University and a Non-resident Senior Research Fellow at United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER). He received his Bachelor in Economics from Padjadjaran University, MSc from University College London, and PhD from the Australian National University.</p>
<p>His research focuses on the economic development, particularly on poverty and inequality as well as on the interlinkage between economy and the environment. He is also well-known for his expertise in economic modeling particularly computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling.</p>
<p>He is Founding Director of the Center for Sustainable Development Goals Studies (SDGs Center) of Padjajaran University. He is also Director of the Economy and Environment Institute Indonesia (EEI-Indonesia), a part of the wider network of Economy and Environment Program of Southeast Asia (EEPSEA), an organization that works on the research capacity-building for environmental economics in the region. He has been consultant to various organization such as ADB, UNESCAP, OECD, the World Bank, IDRC as well as advisor to various Indonesian government agencies. Prof. Yusuf is on the editorial board of Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (BIES), a member of the Indonesian Young Academy of Science (ALMI) and the current President of Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA).</p>
