On Thursday, February 29, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, in her role as an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, participated in a capacity-building session titled “Empowering Climate Pact Ambassadors for Driving Social Change,” organized by INZEB, Country Coordinator for Greece for the EU Climate Pact. Alongside other EU Climate Pact Ambassadors, the session aimed to equip local authorities with the necessary tools to implement impactful climate initiatives within their communities.
During her contribution, she shared key insights from the Europe Sustainable Development Report 2023/24 underscoring the pressing need for decisive EU actions to prevent irreversible environmental damage and address social tipping points. Additionally, she presented findings from the SDG Index Report for Greek Regions, marking the initial assessment of progress towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals at the regional level.
