The latest quarterly meeting for the six-year ERC project ‘Water Futures’ was held at in Bielefeld, Germany, from October 26th to October 27th, 2023
The ‘Smart Water Futures: Designing the Next Generation of Urban Drinking Water Systems’ team (University of Cyprus (UCY), Bielefeld University Athens Univ. of Economics and Business (AUEB), KWR Water Research Institute (KWR), University of Exeter) combines leading experience in water science, systems and control theory, economics and decision science, and machine learning.
During the meeting, Professor Phoebe Koundouri, the Principal Investigator of AUEB, delivered a brief update on our team’s research progress. Additionally, several research presentations were given:
- A discussion of Group Decision Making via Frechet Barycenters by Prof. Thanos Yannacopoulos
- Rationality, Ambiguity, and Dutch books by Ass. Prof. Panagiotis Samartzis
- A study on Ambiguity and Stability of Preferences by Dr. Lazaros-Antonios Chatzilazarou
- Public perceptions of the impacts of climate change on water security in Athens by Dr. Sofia Frantzi
- Valuation ESG & SDG Quantification by Dr. Conrad Landis
- Co-creating Solutions for the Urban Water Sector: System Innovation Approach in Water Future Case Studies by Dr. Ebun Akinsete
