Frontiers Forum: “A safe and just future within planetary boundaries”

On Tuesday 11 October at the Frontiers Forum  A safe and just future within planetary boundaries” Prof Johan Rockström, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Germany gave an keynote address on how many of these nine boundaries are now breached and present new data on the boundaries’ interactions.A discussion with high-level policy and other experts followed, on how to restore the planetary boundaries – and so ensure a safe and just future for all people.

Contributors include Prof Peng Gong, advisor to Future Earth and member of the Earth Commission; Prof Felix Dapare Dakora, President of the African Academy of Sciences; and top-cited environmental economist Prof Phoebe Koundouri, Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business & Denmark Techical Univeristy.

Porf. Koundouri, in her intervention, focused on the economic evaluation of ecosystem services and the transition to a sustainable economy.
