Dionysis Assimacopoulos is Professor Emeritus at the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, where he taught from 1981 until 2017, and Coordinator of the School’s Environmental and Energy Management Research Unit. He has participated in over 60 funded research an education projects over the past 30 years. His current research interests focus on Climate Change Adaptation, and on the Management of Energy, Water Resources and Environmental Systems.
He has authored/co-authored more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences and books/textbooks. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Municipality’s Local Government Organization “National Garden – Metropolitan Green S.A.”. He has also served as vice-president in the Board of Directors of the Greek Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) and that of the Athens Water Utility (EYDAP S.A.), and as board member for the Greek National Center for the Environment and Sustainable Development. He has extensive experience as consultant/advisor, external evaluator and monitoring expert on a number of projects in Greece and abroad.
