Chelmi Efrossini

Position: PhD candidate

Effrossini Chelmi was born, raised, and lives in Byron in Athens, a native of Epirus, Cephalonia and Pontus.

She is a Mechanical Engineer of NTUA where she graduated with a specialty of Energy Engineer specialized in Thermal Turbine Engines.

She attended seminars in Turbine Technology and Industrial Management at Cranfield Institute of Technology, England.

She then obtained a Master Degree, Master of Science in Energy from Heriot-Watt University, UK, specialized in Air Quality in the Airport area and their surroundings.

Thesis: “A Framework for Analyzing the Status and Trends for Air-Quality Pollution in the Airports Area

She holds an MBA (Financial Management & Information Technology) with direction in Organizational Management and Entrepreneurship, from the Postgraduate Program of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA, as well as from the School of Economics, Business and International Studies of the University of Piraeus and specialized in matters concerning the area of ​​Policy Modeling and Participatory Decision Making in Public Administration.

Dissertation: “Overview of Research Priorities and Prospects in Policy Modeling and Participatory Decision Making in Public Administration

She has participated in international scientific conferences such as:

•  the 4th International Conference on Computational Mechanics (GRACM 4th) 2002, where she presented her original scientific work on “A Reliable Numerical Algorithm Used to Predict the Optimal Operational Point of Contemporary Turbofan Engines“,

• the 8th International Aviation Congress entitled “Present and Future of Air Transport” where she presented her scientific work on “Airports & the Environment“,

• the 9th International Aviation Conference entitled “Present and Future of Air Transport” where she presented her scientific work on “The Challenges of the Future in Airport Security“,

• the 10th International Aviation Conference entitled “Present and Future of Air Transport” where she presented her scientific work on “Social Economy in the Aviation Sector – New Trends and Opportunities“.

She has been trained by the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government (NCPALG) on issues of Public Administration and Local Government.

She has worked in the Technical Department of Olympic Airways for about 20 years.

Since 2011 she has been serving in the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development and Investments in the Directorate for International Scientific and Technological Cooperation, Department of Bilateral and Multilateral Transnational Cooperation. She has also served in the Supervision Department of Research and Technological Bodies, in the Research Building Infrastructure Support Department, as a supervisor in the construction of Public Works.

She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, of the Economic Chamber of Greece, of the Hellenic Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, of the Hellenic Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (ELINAAS) and others.

She speaks English and French.
