Professor of Environmental Economics, University of Stirling
Professor Nick Hanley was appointed Professor of Environmental Economics at the University of Stirling in 2003. He is a graduate of the University (BA) and has worked there as a lecturer, senior lecturer and reader until he was appointed Professor in the Institute of Ecology and Resource Management at the University of Edinburgh in 1997. He was then Professor of Economics at Glasgow University until leaving in 2003 to return to Stirling as Professor of Environmental Economic. He is involved with the Coastal Ecosystems and Biodiversity and Ecosystem Function research themes within MASTS (Marine Alliance Science and Technology Scotland), and was one of the authors of the UK National Ecosystems Assessment.
