Stavroula Samara is a licensed Psychologist specialized in research developmental psychology. She holds a BSc and MA degrees from the University of Toronto and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (Ontario, Canada) with specialization in self-evaluation methods in teaching. She has conducted research for the Ontario Board of Education on Transition Years assessment techniques. She has collaborated with the Ministry of Education in Greece on teacher trainings for vulnerable populations all over Greece (Roma, migrants) and has worked with refugee populations designing and directing the first non-formal education program in Athens for refugee camp children as well as inclusion programs for refugee adolescents. She has coordinated psychosocial support to trauma survivors (women and child soldiers). She has participated in international peace education programs and has been trained in nonviolent communication and creative facilitation. She has also designed and implemented teacher trainings for climate change for teachers and pupils of elementary level schools. She is currently employed as a Scientific Associate at the Sustainable Development Unit, Research Center and Affiliated Researcher at ReSEES, Athens University of Economics and Business and the Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria working in two Erasmus + projects: BuildSkills Academy which aims to provide the methodology to VET providers in the construction sector for enriching their courses with green and digital skills necessary for upskilling and reskilling and EXCEED which is again upskilling and reskilling workers through VET education in the Advanced Manufacturing sector.
