Farmers are among the professionals most affected by the various crises we are going through. How can we continue to ensure food for all under these conditions? Will the farmers hold out? Should we put pressure on large retailers?

To discuss this issue, two guests embodying two opposing visions of agriculture: Benoît Biteau, breeder and member of the European Parliament for Europe Ecologie Les Verts who defends organic farming, the rapid abandonment of dependence on chemical inputs and the end of productivist food policies. For him, the new common agricultural policy distributes the money to the richest, without conditionalities, leaving small farmers in great difficulty.

On the contrary, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, economist and co-chair of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Europe, mentioned that intensive agriculture and the use of pesticides are solutions to maintain the necessary agricultural production.
