Οn Tuesday Feb 21st, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri gave a speech on “Accelerating technological and social innovations for the energy transition toresilient economies” at the Conference “Good practices in ecological and socio-economic integration of energy initiatives”, which was co-organized by the Global Solar Council and the Spanish Solar Photovoltaics Association (UNEF) with the aim of establishing and promoting the best environmental and social integration practices of the photovoltaic sector at a global level.
Energy transition demands the application of best practices in the implementation of renewables, integrating socio-economic and environmental aspects to ensure that people and nature are the core of decision-making and initiatives toward resilient and green economies. In this regard, the session showcased the Spanish Certification of Excellence in Sustainability to promote high-quality standards and best practices in solar photovoltaics implementation.
The conference was organized in the context of the the Spanish International Renewable Energy Conference (SPIREC) which co-organized by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Demographic Challenge and REN21. SPIREC had representatives from all areas to discuss initiatives and experiences that promote renewable energy at the international, national and subnational levels.
