The 7th STS forum European Workshop – Royal Society in London

On April 8th, Professor Phoebe Koundouri was honored to deliver a speech at the prestigious Royal Society in London for the High-level Conference of Political, Industrial, and Academic Leaders – the Seventh STS forum European Workshop.

Among the distinguished speakers were Nobel laureates, including Professor Emeritus David Baulcombe from the University of Cambridge, Professor Sophien Kamoun from The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich, and Didier Toubia, Co-Founder and CEO of Aleph Farms, Israel, Professor Ismail Serageldin, Founding Director Emeritus of The Library of Alexandria, Egypt, and Sir Partha Dasgupta, Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Cambridge.

The panel discussion focused on the Future of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security. Sustainable Food Systems are a crucial component of the needed Global Sustainable Transition. Prof. Koundouri presented the UN SDSN Global Climate Hub which provides a holistic, interdisciplinary, and intra-disciplinary method that derives science-based dynamic and spatial food systems pathways, meeting national and international goals of food security, biodiversity, and climate goals and she shared the Hub’s method and results.
