On June 1st, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, SDSN Europe Co-Chair and María Cortés Puch, SDSN Vice President of Network Program, presented SDSN framework of SDGs transformation pathways to the United Nations ECA (Europe and Central Asia) Regional Economist Network Annual Retreat.
The Six SDG Transformations have been proposed by the SDSN, to facilitate the governments and high-level decision makers in understanding the actions to be taken for the effective implementation of the SDGs. They provide stakeholders with actionable operations that cover a very broad range of a Country’s organizational structure, namely Education, Health, Energy, Food, Sustainable cities and Digitalization.
The aim of the workshop was to:
- Increase understanding of the major developments in the region and identify common issues and offer solutions for addressing the negative impact on SDGs
- Foster increased regional cooperation among economists
- enhance understanding of the roles of the Economists within the UN
- Share challenges and lessons learned, identification of areas of success and gaps that need to be communicated to HQ and how to ensure best support from DCO
