SETAC Europe 2018 Rome sessions announcement under Track 3: Environmental Chemistry and Exposure Assessments: Analysis, Monitoring, Fate and Modelling

The aim of the conference is to compile innovative current research from resource, energy and environmental economics and dynamic economic theory. By bringing together leading experts, junior and senior scholars and young researchers in these fields, the conference covers a broad range of aspects regarding the relationship between natural resource use and long-term economic development.

After Venice (1998), Monterey (2002), Kyoto (2006), Montréal (2010) and Istanbul (2014), the profession will convene on the beautiful Swedish west coast. WCERE 2018 is hosted by the Department of Economics at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg. The conference is jointly organized by the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), the East Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAAERE) and the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE).

There will be two types of pre-organized sessions at WCERE 2018 for which proposals are now invited.

(1) THEMATIC SESSIONS aim to advance theory and methods in the field of environmental and resource economics. They normally consist of three or four papers connected by a unifying theme (subject or method). The theme is expected to be of interest to a relatively broad audience of environmental and resource economists. The individual papers are expected to be of very high quality, both with respect to scientific content and presentation. The Scientific Committee will select a limited number of proposed Thematic Sessions based on scientific quality and originality. The thematic sessions will run in parallel in much the same way as regular parallel sessions.

(2) POLICY SESSIONS aim to advance the application of environmental and resource economics in policy-making and to provide a forum of exchange between policy-makers and academics. Sessions are expected to be of interest to a broad audience of research economists. They will typically be formatted as formal presentations or as roundtable discussions. Papers are not required. The Scientific Committee will select a limited number of proposed Policy Sessions based on significance and originality. The Policy sessions will also run in parallel in much the same way as regular parallel sessions.

The conference welcomes contributions by interested researchers in the fields mentioned above (RCTs and analyses of complex dynamic systems – ecosystems, but also complex dynamics in social systems hampering or fostering the energy and/or sustainability transitions), but the invitation to submit contributions is not limited to these areas. The conference takes a broad interest in the area of resource management, development and conservation, including but not limited to: the role of biodiversity and ecosystem services in economic development, deforestation and development, resource use and institutional adaptation, international trade and regulation, and natural resources and the circular economy. For a flavor of previous conferences go to previous BIOECON conferences. BIOECON also has the goal of influencing policy-makers and policy. To this end two expert policy panels will be organized; details will follow later.

Complete papers may be submitted for presentation within the conference and only complete papers will be considered by the scientific program committee. Electronic copies should be sent to Ms Kristel Suijs at bioecon@bioecon-network.org no later than Friday May 12, 2017.Please include Abstract, JEL Codes and Keywords with your submission. Acceptance of papers will be notified by email by Friday June 16, 2017

The Fifth Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) will be held on 18 & 19 September, 2017, at Columbia University in New York City. Abstract submission is due by May 1; full details on how to submit an abstract is available on the conference website.

The main objectives of this workshop are to provide a forum for dissemination of high quality papers in the field of non-market valuation and to create a network. The fifth edition of the workshop will be organized by the Choice Modelling Centre (CMC). Both theoretical and applied papers dealing with stated preference methods (contingent valuation, choice experiment) or revealed preference methods (travel cost method, hedonic pricing method) will be presented. Empirical applications can deal with agriculture, environment, health, transportation, etc…. The workshop is open to both young and experienced researchers.

Join the 2017 ISCRAM conference by applying to present your project at the EU Project Symposium (24th May 2017). The EU Project Symposium will be held for a second time. In 2015, the Symposium welcomed the presentation of 18 European projects, providing opportunities for collaboration and insights into R&D taking place in Europe. This year, applicants are provided with the opportunity to present their project in an elevator pitch, as well as to participate in the panel on future trends in R&D on crisis and disaster management in Europe. You can also participate in the EU Project Fair by presenting a poster, or providing a demonstration. For more information please visit: https://goo.gl/bzzHtp
