The 2025 edition of the Deloitte Climate & Sustainability Competency Lab is approaching and, to introduce it, we revisit some of the previous lectures.
Professor Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri (Athens University of Economics and Business) showcased actionable strategies for policymakers that can guide EU-wide and national economic recovery in line with the EU’s overarching sustainability agenda.
SDGs are the most holistic, integrated, intra-disciplinary framework that identifies how we construct pathways towards sustainability, integrating the interaction of the economy, society, and nature into human welfare support and enhancement. The achievement of the Goals relies on the pace of cost-efficient technological advancements and on SDG-stimulus financial and fiscal instruments accelerating the process towards sustainability. It is also crucial for decision makers to think holistically and make sure to identify synergies between C-level managers and trade-offs for the transformation along the value chain of the company.
In her lecture for the 2024 Deloitte Climate & Sustainability Competency Lab, Professor Phoebe Koundouri shared strategies for aligning recovery plans with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She emphasized the importance of innovation, financial tools, and cross-sector collaboration in driving a sustainable future.
