On 2 July 2025, Professor Phoebe Koundouri was pleased to contribute to the Breakfast Dialogue titled “Beyond Projects, Towards Prosperity: Financing for a New Era”, held during the fourth Financing for Development Forum and co-hosted by the UN Joint SDG Fund, PVBLIC Foundation, and the Development Bank for Resilient Prosperity (The Nature Bank). The event fostered a forward-looking and inclusive discussion on systemic approaches to development finance.
In her closing remarks, Professor Koundouri emphasized the critical need for well-defined and detailed investment portfolios encompassing infrastructure, technologies, and transformational policies. She underlined that mobilizing private capital for sustainable development requires strategic clarity and systemic alignment, as public funding alone will not suffice to meet the scale of the challenge.
