On Monday, March 11th, our team at AE4RIA – the Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aephoria (Resees, Research Laboratory AUEB – Sustainable Development Unit – ATHENA RC) held a productive meeting with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Athens, Greece, Climate-KIC, the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF), and the Hellenic Ports Association to explore potential collaboration opportunities within the DeepDemonstration initiative. This initiative focuses on advancing the sustainable transformation of Greece’s port sector, driven by a shared commitment to innovation and resilience in the maritime industry.
The Deep Demonstrations of Net-Zero Emissions and Resilient Maritime Hubs, led by Climate-KIC, aim to demonstrate how ambitious maritime hubs can lead the transition to cleaner, low-carbon shipping and trade.
This collaboration seeks to align Greece’s ports with the European Green Deal and broader sustainability goals, leveraging cutting-edge research, data-driven insights, and international expertise to drive meaningful change in one of Greece’s most vital economic sectors.
