The findings of the 2023 FABLE Scenathon are highlighted in the 9th edition of the Sustainable Development Report SDR by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Pathways for all countries include the Current Trends, National Commitments and Global Sustainability scenarios.
FABLE team Greece – led by AE4RIA – participated for the first time in 2023 and a summary of the results is available in a separate report. Adhering to national and EU commitments reduces GHG Emissions from Agriculture by 75% compared to Business-as-Usual driven mainly by increased Crop & Livestock productivity and behavioral shift to healthier dietary patterns. The Greek FABLE team is currently working on tailoring built-in scenarios to idiosyncratic characteristics of the Greek Agri-Food system to develop pathways towards net zero by 2050.
The pathways for food and land-use systems in Greece were developed by Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri, Prof. Chrysi Laspidou, Dr. Mariatzela Chatzigiannakou, Dr. Konstantinos Dellis, Dr. Alexandra Ioannou and Dr. Conrad Landis
