Full MariTech Talent Training Programme: Strengthening Maritime Skills for a Sustainable and Digital Future

Date: 6–8 October 2025

The final phase of the MariTech Talent Programme took place successfully between 6 and 8 October 2025 in Limassol, marking the culmination of an intensive micro-credential training designed to strengthen the maritime workforce with the skills needed for the green and digital transition.

Building on the online self-paced learning and webinar series delivered through the MariTech Node platform, this in-person phase provided participants with an immersive learning experience that combined theory, practice, and direct exposure to the maritime ecosystem.

Programme Overview

 

Online Phase
Participants began their journey with an online onboarding session and a series of webinars hosted on the MariTech Node. This self-paced component provided foundational knowledge on sustainability, digitalisation, regulatory frameworks, and technological innovation in the maritime industry, laying the groundwork for the onsite activities in Cyprus.

Onsite Training Workshops (6 October 2025)
Held at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, the onsite workshops introduced participants to advanced methodologies in systems thinking, enterprise design, and port infrastructure management. Through two interactive sessions, organized by Cyprus University of Technology, CleanTech Bulgaria and Benevent participants explored practical approaches to managing maritime operations in a changing regulatory and technological landscape. Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference (6–8 October 2025)
As part of the programme, participants attended the Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference, one of the most prestigious international shipping events, providing a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators shaping the future of global shipping.

Digital Solutions for Maritime Event (7 October 2025)
This interactive workshop organized by ATHENA RC and Chrysalis Leap with the support of DiGiNN Cyprus brought together maritime professionals, researchers, and technology providers to explore the key drivers of digital transformation. Through guided exercises, participants identified operational challenges, mapped digital priorities, and developed actionable strategies for enhancing innovation and future readiness.The presentation and material used for the delivery of these workshops can be found under Courses on the node.

Guided Limassol Port Visit (8 October 2025)
The training concluded with a guided visit to the Limassol Port, co-organized by Eurogate and DP World, offering participants firsthand insights into modern port operations, sustainability initiatives, and digital integration in logistics management.

Through this hands-on training, participants gained not only theoretical understanding but also practical exposure to real-world maritime challenges and innovative solutions. The MariTech Talent Programme continues to empower professionals and enterprises to lead the sector’s transition towards a more sustainable, digital, and resilient maritime future.
