From September 19–21, 2024, theInternational Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD2024) took place, hosted by the Global Association of Master’s in Development Practice Programs and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). The theme of the conference was “Solutions for the Future” and it brought together individuals involved in research, policy, practice, and business in advance of the 2024 United Nations Summit of the Future. Participants shared practical solutions for achieving the SDGs at both local and national levels.
Prof. Phoebe Koundouri and Dr. Konstantinos Dellis co-chaired the session “Integrating Energy and Land-Use Pathways,” which focused on merging energy and land-use strategies to foster sustainability.
The session covered topics such as smart urban planning, renewable energy integration, and resource efficiency. It also highlighted the work of the SDSN Global Climate Hub and the FABLE team in Greece, led by AE4RIA. The team is developing tailored scenarios for Greece’s Agri-Food system to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The report can be accessed here
