Research Laboratory on Socio-Economic and Environmental Sustainability (ReSEES) at Athens University of Economics and Business focuses on interdisciplinary research on socio-economic and environmental systems. ReSEES via its interdisciplinary and international research team has an impressive track record in attracting research funding from European Commission, International Organizations and Foundations. Such as the (ERC) Water-Futures: Smart Water Futures: Designing the Next Generation of Urban drinking Water Systems, (Horizon 2020) ARSINOE: Building a low-carbon, climate resilient future: Research and Innovation, (Horizon 2020) BRIDGE-BS: Advancing Black Sea Research and Innovation to Co-Develop Blue Growth within Resilient Ecosystems, (Horizon 2020) IMPETUS: Dynamic Information Management Approach For the Implementation of Climate Resilient Adaptation Packaged in European Region. ReSEES research tools include, among others, financial analysis, socio-economic and econometric analysis, environmental valuation, political and institutional analysis, integrated environmental-economic modeling, life cycle analysis, risk analysis, geographical information systems, game theory, information technology decision making tools development and systems innovation approach.

Sustainable Development Unit (SDU)
The Sustainable Development Unit (SDU), at “Athena” Information Technology Research Center leads systemic research on the Green and Digital Transition. SDU engages in cutting-edge research to enable the transition to resilience and sustainability, through the implementation of UN Agenda 2030 (17 SDGs), the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal. The Unit focuses on interdisciplinary systems research and the delivery of innovative solutions for the transition to a green, digital, job-based and fair future. The work on its large interdisciplinary team focuses on the inter-dependencies between research and innovation, the economy, the society, the environment, policy-making and politics. The thematic priorities of the Unit are namely: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation; Sustainable Blue Growth; Water-Food-Energy Nexus; Circular Economy; Sustainable Finance; Research Commercialization and Innovation Acceleration. Among the research projects of the Unit are: (Horizon 2020) DOORS: Developing an Optimal and Open Research Support system to unlock the potential for blue growth in the Black Sea, (Horizon 2020) SEAwise: Shaping ecosystem based fisheries management and (Horizon 2020) ARSINOE: Climate Resilient Regions Through Systemic Solutions and Innovations.

Stochastic Modeling and Applications Laboratory
Stochastic Modeling and Applications Laboratory at Athens University of Economics and Business serves research and educational needs in the cognitive subject “Stochastic Procedures – Stochastic Analysis – Applied Probability – Stochastic Models” and more specifically, in using advanced theoretical and computational methods in constructing and comprehending stochastic models to describe complex phenomena in contemporary technologies and finance.

DTU Management Department of Technology, Management and Economics
DTU Management conducts excellent research at the intersection of management, technology, and economics. They focus on developing solutions in collaboration with companies and public authorities. The department’s research goals are centered around enhancing welfare, productivity, and sustainability in society. They place a significant emphasis on the role of technology and its interactions with industries and individuals. DTU Management provides diverse courses and programs at bachelor, master, and PhD levels within DTU’s study programs. The department has approximately 200 employees, with about 50% of them being international. Professor Phoebe Koundouri holds the position of Research Professor in the Department of DTU Management.
