From June 15th to 16th, we had the pleasure of hosting Marta Garcia Haro, Senior Manager of the Networks Program at SDSN and Focal Point of SDSN Greece. Marta’s visit was filled with productive meetings, insightful discussions, and fruitful collaborations.
During her visit, Marta visited the three hosting institutions of SDSN Greece: the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Political Economy of Sustainable Development (PESD) Laboratory at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the Athena Research & Innovation Center.
On June 15th, a hybrid meeting took place at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with SDSN Greece Chairs, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri and Prof. Andreas Papandreou, along with SDSN Network Managers, Dr. Georgina Spyres and Dr. Antonis Alevizos, to discuss the progress of ongoing initiatives.
Following the meeting, a gathering was held at the Research Laboratory on Socio-Economic and Environmental Sustainability (ReSEES) at the Athens University of Economics and Business, featuring presentations by Dr. Conrad Landis, Post-Doc Researcher at ReSEES Lab on the SDGs Measurement in Greek Regions Report and SDGs Measurement at Universities, as well as Mary Psilou, Communications Manager SDSN Greece & Europe on upcoming SDSN events, including the highly anticipated Aristotle Confucius event in July.
During her visit, Marta also met with various members of the SDSN Greece network, including IST College, the Goulandris Natural History Museum, and the American College of Greece (ACG).
On June 16th, the visit concluded with a meeting at the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) at the Athena Research & Innovation Center in Marousi, where Prof. Koundouri provided an overview of actions supporting different SDSN initiatives, such as the EAERE conference, highlighted other relevant work, and presented the SDSN Global Climate Hub and ongoing projects.
