Dr. Theo Benos is currently a member of the Research Laboratory on Socio-Economic and Environmental Sustainability (ReSEES) at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a BSc from the Athens University of Economics and Business, an MSc in Agribusiness Management from Wageningen University, an MA in Marketing Analysis from Ghent University, and a PhD in Cooperatives from Wageningen University. He has previously worked as a researcher at the University of Crete, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. In addition, he has served as an advisor to the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and has taught as a lecturer at Maastricht University. Dr. Benos has also collaborated with the Italian Institute for Agricultural Research (CREA) and the Research and Policy Institute “diaNEOsis”. His academic and policy contributions include the publication of 10 scientific articles and 5 policy reports, as well as the delivery of 13 scientific presentations. Recently, he has been an invited speaker at several prominent events, including the Delphi Economic Forum in Slemani (2025), the RGC Conference (2025), the Olympia Forum (2024), the Delphi Economic Forum (2024), and InnoDays (2023). His research and policy work focuses on cooperatives, agricultural policy, agri-food systems, and sustainable development.
