We are pleased to announce the publication of the report “SDGs in Universities: Athens University of Economics and Business”, produced by AE4RIA, including ReSEES Research Laboratory, AUEB and SDSN Europe. This comprehensive, data-driven assessment evaluates how AUEB aligns its research, education, governance, and external engagement with the UN 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The report highlights the central role universities play in driving sustainable development—through knowledge creation, innovation, and societal leadership—and shows how SDG integration strengthens institutional credibility, fosters partnerships, and supports resilient, future-oriented education.
Using advanced Natural Language Processing tools developed by ReSEES, the analysis maps AUEB’s SDG engagement across publications, curricula, operations, and outreach. It identifies strong contributions in areas such as institutional governance (SDG 16), partnerships (SDG 17), economic development (SDG 8), and responsible production (SDG 12), while also outlining opportunities for deeper engagement with environmental SDGs
The report also introduces AE4RIA’s open-access SDG Tracker, which allows users to upload documents and instantly explore SDG-related insights through interactive visualizations, supporting evidence-based decision-making for policymakers, educators, and researchers.
This publication provides a valuable framework for strengthening the link between university action and global sustainability goals—and positions AUEB as a leading institution in Greece’s transition toward a fair, resilient, and sustainable future.
