Prof. Phoebe Koundouri Presents at Drive TLV’s Partners Week in Athens

On 19/11/2025, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri spoke at Drive TLV’s Partners Week in Athens, an event that convened startups, industry executives, and innovation leaders from Europe, Asia, and the United States to examine emerging technologies in mobility, cybersecurity, AI, energy, and related fields.

In her presentation, Prof. Koundouri outlined perspectives on the future of sustainable and smart mobility, emphasized the role of environmental economics in shaping effective innovation ecosystems, and underscored the importance of collaboration among corporates, startups, and academic institutions to accelerate progress toward a climate-resilient, net-zero future.

She also presented three AE4RIA — Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aephoria — technology accelerators supporting mission-oriented innovation:

  • BRIGAID Connect: Provides support to European innovators developing climate-resilience solutions through the Climate Innovation Window, which hosts more than 120 solutions targeting floods, droughts, and extreme weather.

  • Black Sea Accelerator: Promotes blue-economy innovation through training and expert guidance within the BRIDGE Black Sea and DOORS Black Sea Horizon projects.

  • MENA Maritime Accelerator: Supports maritime-sustainability startups with funding, training, and mentorship; 26 startups from 21 countries have participated since 2021.
