On 7th March 2025, at the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg, during the General Assembly and Election Procedure, congratulations were extended to Prof. Klaus Mainzer, who was re-elected as President. Prof. Kristin De Troyer, Prof. Ioannis Liritzis, and Prof. Verica Trstenjak were elected as Vice Presidents.
Prof. Phoebe Koundouri is honored to be a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, a distinguished non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing scientific and societal progress through research, collaboration, and knowledge exchange since 1990. The Academy’s members include leading scientists, artists, and governance experts.
Prof. Koundouri takes great pride in being part of this esteemed community, alongside her involvement in other prestigious academies, where she serves as Fellow, Trustee, or Awardee. These include Academia Europaea, the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), the Academy of Athens, the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (AETDEW), the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), and the European Forest Institute (EFI).
The European Academy of Sciences and Arts and the World Academy of Art and Science have reaffirmed their strong commitment to the Global Peace Offensive vision, jointly adopted by both academies. As two of the world’s largest academic networks, they are dedicated to advancing peace, social cohesion, and global well-being through interdisciplinary collaboration and collective action.
Prof. Koundouri is also pleased to announce that she will deliver a speech at the Academia Europaea – HUN-REN Interdisciplinary Workshop on Earth, Environment, and Healthy Living, taking place on 24–25 April 2025 in Budapest, hosted by Academia Europaea. Her presentation will focus on the Academia Europaea Task Force on Environment, Sustainability, and Climate (TFESC), which she is honored to co-lead. The initiative’s primary objective is to explore innovative strategies for advancing Healthy Food and Sustainable Agriculture in Europe, with a global outlook.
Additionally, a special issue on food security will be published in the official journal of the Academy, further contributing to this crucial and ongoing discourse.
