On Tuesday, January 29, as a member of the Steering Committee of the Santa Chiara Lab – Università di Siena, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri had the pleasure of attending its official launch at the lab’s headquarters in the historic Porta Romana area. The Santa Chiara Lab has been, since its inception, a center dedicated to fostering connections and hybridization between different fields of knowledge, a facilitator of relationships between the business world and academia, and a place for cross-disciplinary training, hospitality, and sharing.
Their day was filled with inspiring discussions, lab visits (Santa Chiara Lab; LabVR UNISI; Farming Lab; Packaging Lab; Kitchen Lab; Fondazione Siena Food Lab) and engaging presentations, concluding with the inauguration of new laboratories at the Scientific Center of San Miniato. It was a valuable opportunity for Prof. Phoebe Koundouri to exchange ideas and explore collaboration opportunities with her team AE4RIA – Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria and SDSN Europe, which she co-chairs, alongside María Cortés Puch, Vice President of Sustainable Development Solutions Network SDSN, who was also present at the committee meeting.
A special thanks to Prof. Phoebe’s Koundouri dear friend and colleague, Prof. Angelo Riccaboni, ex-Rector of the University of Siena, Rector’s Delegate at Santa Chiara Lab & Coordinator of the Agrifood Living Lab, for the warm invitation and hospitality!
Additionally, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri had the pleasure of meeting with Simone Borghesi, Professor at the University of Siena and President of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), a presidency that followed hers, to discuss key topics related to EAERE and the World Council of Environmental and Resource Economists Associations (WCEREA), which she chairs.
