Strengthening European VET for Sustainable Systems: CATALYST Project Meeting in Athens

The CATALYST Project Meeting took place in Athens, Greece, on 22–23 October 2025. The event focused on strengthening excellence in Vocational Education and Training to support Europe’s sustainable transition and was co-organized by the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB),  Creative Thinking Development (CRETHIDEV), and Sporos Circular Solutions.

Over the course of two productive days, project partners:

  • Reviewed project progress and achievements

  • Discussed insights from the external evaluation

  • Defined communication strategies to achieve final KPIs

  • Presented national sustainability strategies from partner countries

  • Agreed on next steps to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of the CATALYST European and National Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs)

The meeting included contributions from Professor Dr. Phoebe Koundouri, Principal Investigator of the CATALYST Project at AUEB, alongside representatives from partner institutions in Austria, Germany, Greece, North Macedonia, and Portugal. AUEB was also represented by Ms. Lydia Papadaki, Ms. Eleni Toli, and Ms. Panagiota Koltsida.

This gathering played a pivotal role in reinforcing the CATALYST community and advancing Europe’s efforts to equip the next generation of sustainability leaders.
