Unlocking Natural Capital for Climate Finance: AE4RIA, PVBLIC Foundation, and University of Cambridge at the UN

On February 11, AE4RIA – Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aephoria, in collaboration with the PVBLIC Foundation and the University of Cambridge, hosted a high-level side event at the Third Preparatory Committee Session for FFD4: Unlocking Natural Capital to Support Global Climate Finance in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Countries in the Global South.

Held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the session brought together key stakeholders from finance, policy, and sustainable development to explore innovative ways to value natural resources as a means of unlocking climate finance for vulnerable nations.

Discussions centered around emerging trends in development finance, strategies to improve financial access for SIDS and Global South nations, and the crucial role of interdisciplinary research in shaping sustainable finance solutions. Experts also highlighted innovative methodologies integrating economics, climate science, AI, and transition science to create financial frameworks that prioritize sustainability.

This event marked a pivotal moment in reshaping international financial structures, aiming to bridge economic disparities and support climate resilience in the most vulnerable regions of the world.
