During the session titled “Towards a Skills Pledge for Tripling Renewables” at the Global Renewables Hub Pavilion, AE4RIA participated in the Skills Pledge for Tripling Renewables, a new call to action led by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA). This initiative focuses on skills development for a renewables-based energy transition.

In her speech, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri referenced the AE4RIA and Huawei report on “Twin Skills for the Twin Transition: Defining Green Digital Skills and Jobs,” which used an AI-based methodology to identify the necessary skills and occupations for the implementation of the Green and Digital Transformation of the European Green Deal. The roundtable session gathered key stakeholders to provide feedback on the draft text, discuss best practices related to the pledge’s focus areas, and galvanize early champions and supporters ahead of the formal launch of this call to action.
