On 12 October, Dr. Fanis Zacharatos presented the study titled “Transforming agrifood systems in Greece: emissions reduction through the Mediterranean diet” (Koundouri P., Dellis K., Deranian C., Zacharatos T.) at the 18th International Conference of the Hellenic Association of Agricultural Economists, held in Florina, Greece.
The presentation examined the potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through a transition towards a Mediterranean dietary pattern, using the FABLE calculator, contributing to the broader discussion on sustainability and the transformation of agrifood systems in Greece.
Dr. Zacharatos represented the AE4RIA – Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria, chaired by Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, as part of ongoing efforts to advance scientific knowledge on sustainable development and the green transition.
Participation in the conference provided a valuable opportunity for academic discussions, feedback, and networking with researchers and colleagues in the fields of agricultural economics and sustainability.
