From March 18–20, the General Assembly Meeting of our CARMINE Project was hosted at the Academy of Athens, bringing together 32 partners from 11 countries to discuss climate-resilient development pathways in metropolitan regions of Europe.
As a key partner in the CARMINE project, our team at the Sustainable Development Unit – ATHENA RC Athena Research Center plays a crucial role, leading two major work packages and contributing significantly to several key areas, including:
- Living Labs and stakeholder engagement activities
- Geo-based climate adaptation and mitigation pathways
- Digital Twin technologies to support cross-sectoral climate resilience
- Socioeconomic vulnerability assessment
Our participation focuses on developing innovative, science-driven solutions that empower metropolitan regions to plan and act for a sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient future.
Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri, as the Principal Investigator, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the urgency of system innovation and science-policy integration in shaping resilient urban futures. Her insights framed the project’s ambitions and inspired a dynamic exchange of ideas.
Representing our team at the meeting were: Dr. Ebun Akinsete (PhD), Dr. Konstantinos Dellis, Dr. Lida Dimitriadou, PhD, Alice Guittard, Eleni Toli, Panagiota Koltsida, Voula Samara, and Dr. Anna Triantafyllidou.
We extend our sincere thanks to all project partners for their collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and commitment to co-creating impact-driven climate solutions.
